Who we are

Jay Siegel is a senior housing investor with over 11 years of experience in multifamily investment, development, and asset management. He founded Bluebonnet Capital to apply institutional discipline to senior housing through long-term value creation and strategic operator partnerships.

At Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR) Jay is responsible for the development and lease-up of over 1,500 units across Colorado and Texas valued at $525+ million. He advised on over $900 million in asset acquisitions, evaluated $27+ billion in potential equity investments, and contributed to portfolio strategy for an $8 billion platform across the Western US.

Prior to Equity Residential, Jay led urban infill development for a boutique investor in Denver, sourcing and entitling sites representing 150 units and $60 million in development value. Earlier roles at JLL and RCLCO involved guiding institutional clients on portfolios exceeding $15 billion and providing market feasibility analyses for development pipelines across the country.

Jay holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a Master's in Urban Planning with a concentration in Real Estate from Cornell University.

Bluebonnet Capital derives its name from the favorite flower of Jay's late grandmother.
